Crafted in Sterling Silver

At Ula Nara, we choose materials that are comfortable on the skin, durable over time, and honest in composition.

Our jewellery is crafted using 925 sterling silver, which contains 92.5% pure silver and a small proportion of alloy (typically copper) for strength. For gold vermeil necklaces, it is a thick gold plating over sterling silver. All our silver is nickel-free, making it suitable for most sensitive skin.

Silver is widely used in fine jewellery because it is:

• Gentle on the skin and less likely to cause irritation
• Non-plated, meaning it will not peel or wear off over time
• Restorable, as it can be polished and maintained for long-term wear

We do not use stainless steel in our jewellery, which is commonly used in fashion jewellery. While durable, stainless steel often contains trace nickel, which may trigger sensitivities in some individuals.

For these reasons, we choose sterling silver for its balance of comfort, longevity, and material integrity.

As with all jewellery, individual sensitivities can vary. If you have highly reactive skin, we recommend starting with shorter wear periods.
